Congratulations to the New Vice-Mayor of Sulat
August 10th, 2007 | by Lance AC Acampado |The Municipality of Sulat has as new Vice-Mayor in the person of Honorable Gerardo A. Palileo. Doc Gerry assumed the post of vice-mayor and took his oath of office last August 6 due to the vacancy in the position caused by the untimely demise of Honorable Jose A. Tiu - may he rest in peace!
Vice-Mayor Palileo was the top notcher among the councilors during the May 14 elections. Though he was not interested in the position (he was actually being invited to run for the position of vice-mayor) being the first councilor automatically makes him the vice-mayor. He promises to do his best in the new office that has been entrusted to him.
Doc Palileo has been a school dentist at the Eastern Samar National Comprehensive High School (ESNCHS) before he run for councilor in 1995. He completed his three terms in 2004 and has to wait for another three years before being able to run again for the same position. He never dreamed of being a vice-mayor though he had been asked twice, in 2004 after he completed his three terms as councilor and this year, 2007, instead of running for the position of councilor again.
Mayor Javier E. Zacate adminsitered the oath taking of Vice-Mayor Palileo.
