This may not be a local issue of Eastern Samar yet it has a undeniable repercussion on the people not only of Eastern Samar to put mildly. The question to ask is: "Who really benefited Erap's getting pardoned? Erap!? Did he deserve it? or what had he done to deserve it? Gloria!? As a her legacy? As a political goodwill? To whom? To the powerful few? The Filipino people!? Were they a factor at all in this transaction? The Country!? Did it enhance/edify the moral, social and political health of the Philippines? To whose benefit then, the pardon of Erap given satisfy? Lord, Save us from ourselves. Erap is pardoned of his conviction of plunder.
