Evardone Quits Lakas Party
February 5th, 2008 | by Ced Solidon |Eastern Samar Gov. Ben Evardone has announced his resignation from the Lakas-CMD party last Sunday.
Evardone said that his move had nothing to do with the events at the House of Representatives wherein Lakas president Jose De Venecia was ousted as House Speaker yesterday.
He, however said that he wanted to join a party that he thinks is close to Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s heart.
“Where the President is, I will be there,” Evardone said.
According to reports, he is being wooed by Arroyo’s party, Kabalikat ng Malayang Pilipino (Kampi). He has not, however, stated yet whether or not he will join the party. But whatever party he joins, he said the the 14 mayors of Eastern Samar would likely join him.
