The Forum: What’s Your Take on Jun Lozada’s Testimony?
February 12th, 2008 | by Ced Solidon |The Forum is an avenue to know week-by-week which are the most important issues in Eastern Samar right now as well as other lighter topics for discussion. Aside from that, it gives the visitors the chance to discuss it on this blog. Also, the readers have the power to decide which topic to discuss every week.
Rodolfo Noel Lozada Jr. returned last week after he was allegedly abducted at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport by people working for the government. He then released his bombshell at the Senate about the anomalous transactions behind the ZTE-NBN deal. The names of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s husband, Mike Arroyo, as well as that of former Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman Benjamin Abalos surfaced during Lozada’s testimony.
While the Catholic Church showed its support for Lozada, he also suffers from a questionable credibility having admitted that he also got involved in other anomalous transactions while working for the government. He however defended himself by saying that he was a small fry compared to the likes of the people he mentioned.
So for this week’s Forum, tell us what you think of Lozada’s testimony. Should he be believed, or should his statements be taken with a grain of salt?
As an aside, you may also discuss former Eastern Samar Congressman, now Bureau of Immigration Commissioner, Marcelino “Ninoy” Libanan’s involvement in the Lozada drama wherein the ZTE-NBN witness quoted him as saying that Lozada is good to return to the Philippines so long as, “meron s’yang pasalubong.”

What a revelation! This is the reason…
Now we witness based on his statements - a halted show that could have victimized all of us. What a narration! The goverment really knows the cheer me up. There is a lot of people like Lozada in this country. Individuals forced to hide and does not posses the courage yet, because we lack the support to boost them up. If we remain then to be indignant, we will keep on loosing. They, will keep on corrupting…
ZTE is a symbol in our lives. It is the daily unknown and clandestined actions of this renowned government that we have. We might not have the big blow up statement like Lozada, but like him we bear witness to this sad reality. We might be a small voice and a mere citizen. However, together we will make a big bang… If and only if, we start to stand up! Lozada and our future actions is the pathway to our success. To show that the voice of the people can still be heard… This is my comment because this is who I am!
