An official of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) has yesterday denied the existence of any mining operation in the island of Manicani, Guiuan, Eastern Samar. Anjanette Cebrero of Eastern Samar has won a gold medal in taekwondo at the elementary level in this year's Palarong Pambansa. She is one of the three athletes from Eastern Visayas who won gold medals at the annual athletic competition held this year in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

Tomorrow I will be 39 years old. Not too old but not that young either. Still I am alive though with a j stent inserted in my right kidney to be removed or changed this coming May depending on the performanc of this organ - whether it improved or deteriorated.
