Dennis Cabacaba

May 14th, 2008 | by Ced Solidon |

A friend of mine, Dennis Cabacaba, passed away last night due to a motorcycle accident in Surok in Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

The details about the accident are still unclear to me. However, another Poblano, Joseph Quirante, told me that he probably could have lived had he been taken to the hospital early enough. According to him, the accident happened around 8pm but the onlookers didn’t have the guts the pick the boy up and had to wait for the police to do it who arrived much later.

Dennis is probably just around 21-22 years old. Too young, indeed. I feel sorry for him and his family and my condolences go out to them. He and his Kuya, Rensis were my contemporaries at the Seminario de Jesus Nazareno and it personally feels terrible to hear about news like this. I wish I could write a fitting tribute to this spunky kid who also loved playing the guitar just like his brothers. Rest in peace, Blano.
