GMA’s Trip to Eastern Samar Cut Short
By Ced Solidon • Sep 30th, 2008 • Category: Events, NewsThe highly-anticipated trip of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to Eastern Samar was cut short due to the storm ‘Pablo’ which hit the province today.
Instead of proceeding to three scheduled events for the day, Mrs. Arroyo was only able to attend the wreath-laying ceremonies in Balangiga. Her trip to Arteche, where she was to inaugurate the Catumsan-Aguinaldo farm-to-market road and her Cabinet meeting in Calicoan Island in Guiuan were both canceled.
From Balangiga, Mrs. Arroyo proceeded to Tacloban City where she met with the Regional Disaster Coordinating Council. She will spend the night there before going to Bacolod City in Negros Occidental tomorrow.
