Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647, declaring the month of October as the National Statistics Month, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Regional Office 8, will sponsor a Siday contest, which will be aired daily over the DYVL Aksyon Radyo, Tacloban City, starting October 6 this year, every 7:30 A.M.
This was learned from PIA-8 that a literary contest will be open to all “Paragsiday” and “Siday” enthusiasts. PIA further spelled out that the poem’s content must link up with this year’s theme, “Demand-Driven Statistics: Key to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Development.”
All entries should not be less than three or more than five stanzas, PIA disclosed. A contestant may submit more than one entry, however, he or she shall only be allowed one entry per day. And for those who submitted more than one entry, said contestant may win more than once for the whole duration of this contest.
To send entries to DYVL Aksyon Radyo, he or she may submit them personally to said radio station. In case of residency outside Tacloban City, he or she may drop their mail to their nearest Postal Office with this address:
Corner Real and J. Romualdez Streets, Tacloban City,
6500, Leyte
A delegate from the PIA will determine the winning entry for the day, and said winner will receive an amount of Php100. And among the winning entries, PIA will pick three grand prize winners who will receive Php500 each.
The decision of the Selection Board shall be deemed final and executory. Upon claiming their prizes, the winners are instructed to present their valid identification card.
