6 Killed, 2 Hurt, 9 Missing in Separate Incidents in Samar and Leyte

The landslide occured at 1am when the family was sleeping. The victims are Edwin de la Cruz, his wife Gemma and their children Dina, Ina, Carla and Rowena.
Another two people were injured during the incident. They were identified as Victor Espina and Pacita Esplana.
9 People Missing in Samar and Leyte
Meanwhile, the Eastern Visayas Regional Coordinating Council reported nine people from Leyte and Eastern Samar missing since yesterday.
Two of the missing are fishermen from Brgy. San Roque, Tolosa, Leyte. They were identified as Arnold Abello and Rogelio Advincula. The two have yet to return after setting out to sea at 4am on January 10.
The other seven are passengers of the motorized banca ‘Rogin’. The boat was on its way to Guiuan, Eastern Samar from the nearby Suluan Island. It left the island on January 10 around 3pm, according to reports.
Passengers of ‘Rogin’ were identified as Aileen Escoto, Alfonso Badar, Jose Talavero, Francis Mae Talavero, Tereso Garcao, Aida Mercado and Peroncio Mercado.
