7000 Affected by Hunger In 2 Guiuan Barangays Due To Bad Weather
By Ced Solidon • Jan 19th, 2009 • Category: NewsSome 7,000 residents of the island-barangays of Homonhon and Suluan in Guiuan, Eastern Samar currently face food crisis as rains and strong winds prevent the transportation of food to these areas.
In an interview with Guiuan mayor Annaliz Kwan, she said that air transport is the only way to deliver food and supplies to the barangays right now. However, it is something that the town has no means of doing.
Just last week, seven people went missing on their way to Guiuan from Suluan due to bad weather.
