Congressman Or A Third Term? Ben Evardone Is Still Undecided
By Ced Solidon • Jan 5th, 2009 • Category: NewsJose Rodriguez T. Senase’s article at the Leyte Samar Daily Express reports that Eastern Samar Governor Ben Evardone is still undecided whether to seek a seat in Congress or a third term in the 2010 elections.
Evardone said that he wants to focus on the more pressing issues of the province instead of the coming elections.
Coquilla-Libanan Alliance
Either way, Evardone may face a difficult battle with the reported alliance of Congressman Tedulo “Doloy” Coquilla and Bureau of Immigration Commissioner Marcelino “Nonoy” Libanan.
Coquilla and Libanan were bitter rivals during the 2007 elections. With Libanan’s term over, he unsuccessfully made his wife, Elda, run against Coquilla.
But those days are over, according to Senase’s report since the two have already, “patched things up and formed an alliance against the governor.”
