Hi Ryan,

Thanks for the compliment. I'm only sorry that the site can't deliver it's own news yet. And that we can't deliver news as frequently as possible. But I'll try to keep up with what we're currently doing and help you find the latest on Eastern Samar on this website.

As for the SIPC membership, I'm really grateful about the offer. Again, however, I'm not technically a media practitioner and would rather focus on the overall administration of the site. Also, I'm not based in E. Samar right now. But I hope other media people from E. Samar would grab your offer. :)

I'll send your regards to them when I see them (hopefully) later this month.

Thanks for dropping by. Balik balik la!

Gud Day Ced and the rest of the netizens in here,

The Samar Island Press Club (SIPC) decided to hold its monthly Harampang sa SIPC news conference in Borongan, Eastern Samar and is tentatively scheduled on April 30, 2009. This is the 7th edition of this monthly project of the SIPC (to help local journalists find accurate news stories by introducing or bringing in to them the news sources).

All local journalists from the Province of Eastern Samar are invited to join, and get the opportunity to meet and know your colleagues in the profession from the other parts of Samar Island who are active members of the SIPC.

We will likewise launch in no time our charity project "Bulong para ha Samarnon" (April or May) - to save our local journalists from begging for help and medicines from politician donors whenever they are approached for help by our needy kababayans. This project is in cooperation with the An Waray Partylist.

Hope to see you soon.

Anyway, I'll just post something about your previous comment about Estehanon journalists to join your organization and hopefully, somebody would be pick it up and join you. And thanks for welcoming me hiton iyo org. In return, welcome ka liwat dinhi pagbisita ngan pagcomment dinhi hiton aton blog. Damo nga salamat!

Good Day Ced,

Thanks for that quick reply. All the while I thought you're based in East Samar, kay an mga comments han im mga net viewers baga man hin ada ka la ha Este, beside some of your articles regarding East Samar are quite updated.

There are only few independent media practitioners in Samar Island (I mean those who are in the private media), at least we could find someone in the East which could at least balance the membership of government connected media people.

But if you plan to join us (the SIPC), you will always be welcome since the SIPC is a quad media organization and an advocate of internet -based journalism.

Thanks and more power to your Sinirangan.Com.

The SIPC is a SEC registered media group and at present has about 35 members from Laoang, Lavesares, San Roque, Allen and Catarman all of northern Samar, Likewise from Calbayog and Catbalogan, and we lack members from Borongan.

We are looking forward into uniting all professional media practitioners in Samar Island, particularly those who can withstand the temptation of envelopmental journalism.

Key media persons who are members and officers of the SIPC for now are: Darwin Aguilar - station manager Radyo Natin Laoang, Elad Perfecto - publisher of Catarman Weekly tribune, Vicky Bohol - publisher of The Samar Monitor, Ryan Babon - publisher of Calbayog news.com, Marlie Tangpos and jennifer Allegado - senior reporters of DyOG Radyo ng Bayan Calbayog, yours truly - editor of Samar Weekly Express and bureau chief of LSDE at the same time of DyMS Aksyon Radyo, and others.

There had been attempts during the previous years to organize this Samar Ilsand-wide media group (Sentay and some of the Sinirangan Press Club members might still remember that during the time of the SIBP) but this is the only attempt so far nga nag succeed. It is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

We formed the group to help out our fellow media practitioners develop their profession, We are likewise into charities, in fact we are schedule to conduct a medical mission in Lope De Vega come April 25, and in Calbayog on May 09.

We cannot implement just yet our programs in East Samar due to lack of manpower or members who can help us do the planning.
