News from Eastern Samar (April 20, 2009)
By Ced Solidon • Apr 20th, 2009 • Category: NewsHere a few flash news from the province:
1. Eastern Samar Road Watch
Roads are still generally terrible from Gen. MacArthur to Llorente. The same thing goes with the Maydolong area although some road works are already being done there.
If you are traveling along those areas, expect to see mounds of limestone by the roadside. These are being used to remedy some of the potholes that haven’t been repaired yet.
2. New Assignments for Eastern Samar Priests
The priests and deacons of Eastern Samar met with Bishop Crispin Varquez at around 4pm at the Bishop’s Palace to discuss the priests’ new parish assignments. I will try to acquire a list of the new assignments and post them here.
Unconfirmed reports say that the priests and deacons will be moving to their new assignments from May 1-15.
3. Mild Earthquake Felt in Borongan
Several minutes before 5pm, there was a mild earthquake felt here in Borongan, Eastern Samar. The quake lasted less than five seconds.
