Australian Under Observation for H1N1 Virus in Tacloban City

The Australian national arrived in the country last May 28 before heading immediately to his fiancee’s hometown in Hernani, Eastern Samar. On June 1, he began experiencing high fever and cold, symptoms of the H1N1 virus.
Within the same day, he was sent to a private hospital in Tacloban City before being transferred to the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center (EVRMC). The EVRMC is the hospital designated to handle H1N1 cases in the Eastern Visayas region.
